Conference Team
Tashira Gibbs is the Founder of Tashira Gibbs LLC. She is the Co-Founder of the Women of Color UX Design Course, which trains women user experience design skills. She has 10+ years experience leading design teams across industries including healthcare, retail, sports and automotive. Tashira is currently the Luxury Mobility Services Lead - North America for Bentley Motors Inc. Previously, she worked at IBM as a Sr. Managing Consultant / Certified Design Thinking Facilitator Coach. Tashira received an MBA from the Ross School of Business and an MSI - Human-Computer Interaction from the University of Michigan School of Information.
Dr. Aleta Simmons is a board certified dermatologist at the Vanderbilt University Medial Center based in Nashville, Tennessee. She has a commitment to the needs of underserved communities. While in medical school, she was a part of the team that helped build Loyola Stritch School of Medicine's Center for Service and Global Health. She led the health disparities section and organized a bi-weekly series on these issues in the Black and Hispanic communities. Currently, Dr. Simmons serves on the department of dermatology resident selection committee and spends her time mentoring underreported minorities in medicine.
